Calcium plays an important role in energy metabolism and, combined with magnesium and potassium, supports muscle function.
Sodium efficiently supports hydration and, in combination with chloride and calcium, the loss of minerals caused by sweating is compensated for.
Studies have shown that the tolerance of organic electrolytes is higher. That's why we only use high-quality, organic mineral salts in our sports drink.
Our products are always developed in close collaboration with top athletes based on current science.

Basically, CARBOTONIC® remains hypotonic at a dosage of up to 100g per 750ml of water.
Isotonic sports drinks are drinks whose particle concentration corresponds to that of blood. However, scientific studies in recent years have shown that drinks in which the particle concentration is lower than in the blood - so-called hypotonic drinks - have better absorption and tolerability. This is particularly beneficial before and during long endurance exercise and minimizes gastrointestinal problems.
Drinks such as fruit juices, energy or soft drinks whose particle concentration is higher than that of blood and therefore have a higher osmotic pressure than blood are called hypertonic and are not suitable for sports. These drinks remove fluid from the body and therefore often trigger nausea or diarrhea during high levels of stress. However, they can be used to quickly replenish carbohydrate stores AFTER exercise.
